Time & Yield

Yield: 1 Serving
Time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Butter

  • 150g Sourdough Starter

  • 1 Tbsp Everything Bagel Seasoning

Instructions

1. Heat a small frying pan over medium heat (lower heat will give you more control so even consider medium low, definitely don’t cook on high), add the butter and wait for when until it is completely melted and starts to foam.

2. Pour in the 150g of Sourdough Starter (like pancake batter) and let it naturally spread in the frying pan.

3. Immediately pour the Everything Bagel Seasoning over the top of the raw dough, scattering it evenly until covered like the top of an everything bagel

4. Let cook for 2 - 4 minutes until the the bottom is browned (you can check by gently lifting the starter with a spatula) and the top of the dough starts to show a few bubbles and begins to set.  Again, it should be similar to cooking a pancake.

5. Flip the dough in the pan and let cook for another 2 - 4 minutes until cooked through.  You can check by cutting a small portion of the middle and visually inspecting to ensure there is no raw dough.

6. Flip the dough one more time so the seasoning is facing up, then transfer to a plate and enjoy!  The fried starter will have a very sour and tangy flavor, it goes great with a fried egg but can be enjoyed on its own!
